NMC OSCE Preparation: APIE Stations

45 minutes0.75 CPD hours7 modulesNurses & midwives

This course prepares internationally educated nurses for the four linked APIE stations of the NMC OSCE: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. It explains how the stations connect around one patient scenario and walks through each station with worked examples of what to say, do and write, based on the NMC's published preparation materials.

What you will learn

  • Describe how the four APIE stations fit into the ten-station NMC OSCE and how they are linked by one scenario.
  • Carry out a systematic, person-centred assessment using the ABCDE approach, record observations accurately and calculate a NEWS2 score.
  • Write a clear, individualised, evidence-based care plan from your assessment findings.
  • Administer medicines safely in the implementation station, completing all required checks and communicating with the patient.
  • Give a structured SBAR handover or evaluation that reflects the patient's progress and next steps.
